Honda Grom Weight

Honda grom weight - It's official! Honda has just made the announcement of the 2017 Honda Grom that you will return to the line model of the motorcycle, 2017. With Honda not building a Grom 2016, some were concerned that Honda would be the suspension of the Grom.
Honda Grom Weight

Not too to my own horn or anything, but if you follow my blog, you'll see that I months ago that the Grom would be back for the 2017 and with all the changes brought about 2016 Honda MSX 125 (GromSF) . Do you want to take a look at my posts of the last few months about the 2017 Honda Grom and my "sneak peeks", etc? You can flip through them by clicking here.

The Grom continues the long tradition of Honda to create the fun and the appeal of the motorcycle leisure small wheels, which began with the bike, original Mono, 1963, and continued with the Dax and Ape. Since its launch in 2013 as a model 2014, the Grom has gained popularity around the world, with over 300,000 units sold to date since a couple of months. Your engine 125cc air cooled exceptionally fuel efficient, appearance extravagant and agile handling, have been attracted to the pilots entry level, travellers to the city worried about the economy, the owners of camp vehicles, drivers, cyclists and other leisure riders alike. It has also gained popularity as the bike paddock perfect for the racing teams. Fortunately, Honda did not alter what is a package already impressive and make the situation worse, because we sometimes see the motorcycle manufacturers to hit a home run with a model, then turn around and do a redesign in the same model that fell and watered the bike and so on and so forth.
  • 2017 Grom Price / sale PRICE - $ 3,199
  • 2017 Grom release Date of August of 2016
  • 2017 Honda Grom Performance Numbers / Score:
  • 2017 Grom Power - 9.7 HP at 7000 RPM
  • 2017 Grom Torque - 8,04 ft / lb TQ at 5,500 RPM
  • 2017 Grom miles per gallon - 134 MPG

Now to the year 2017, a redesign that gives the Grom a new attitude that is more serious, with more of a sense of "mini-streetfighter". The new fuel tank and side panels are built correctly to give you a clearer perspective; in the Front part of a unique, new LED projector stacking gives the Grom a face distinctive, ultra-modern. The unit of compact tail, upswept (with LED taillights), the largest of the passenger seat and short, in virtue of the suspension, exhaust, complete the new look more daring.

Personally, I'm still on the fence in the department of "look" despite the fact that I looked at these pictures countless times over the past few months. I liked the look a little corky I guess you could say in the previous 2015 and earlier Honda Grom. Just had a strange look that made you step back and think of how much fun you'd have in him and not think to yourself "Oh look, it's just a small dc version of a motorcycle bigger than that," similar to what Kawasaki has just done With the 2017 Z125. For me, the Z125 does not have personality, because it just looks like a smaller brother to the Z1000 larger, so Aesthetics are 100% opinions, but not everyone is going to love and hate the same thing on the subject of style. I was excited to order the plastic Grom 2017 and throwing them on my Grom 2014, but the more I see you in the new body style I'm Not so sure I want to go that route now. Who knows, however, most of the time any motorcycle that looks "eeeh" may be impressive in person - similar to what just happened with me and the new 2016 Africa Twin. I was not a huge fan of style wise, but after seeing in person my opinion about the bike turned 180 and I love the way it looks in person.

2017 Kawasaki Z125 VS 2017 Grom 125 ... Who will end up # 1 with the mini-bike more sold for 2017? My money is on the Grom and Mr. Honda said it best many years ago - "Follow the leader" haha.

Honda Grom Weight: Introduction

Easy to use, fun and functional, the motorcycle leisure original was defined by Honda in 1963 with the iconic bike Monkey small wheels and continuous - redefined for each generation respectively with the Dax and Ape. And it's a formula that still has resonance for a race completely new young riders; Known as 'Generation y' in Usa, 'Dek Neaw' in Thailand and 'Street-Kei' in Japan many of today's teenagers, having grown up in the era without borders, share a culture, fashion and spirit that defies convention.

Instinctively drawn to motorcycling, they need their first transport of two wheels to be exciting but not unduly challenging, and want to pack a design that makes you smile. They also have the desire to turn heads and be more than a little different. In addition, given the financial pressures typical of start in life, all this must be achieved as economically as possible.

For Honda the acquisition early and the introduction to the quality and values of the brand is important - the youthful buyer of a bike for leisure, small-capacity today could very likely be back for something much bigger tomorrow, and brand loyalty throughout the life can often be.

New look for 2017: Compact, easy to ride and practical thanks to the motorbike parts from full size, the Grom was an instant world-wide hit in 2013. It is designed for young riders, with an economic engine of the low-friction, gearbox four-speed more An attitude and a style like no other. For the year 2017, new design lines more angular headlights LED downlight unique and a compact exhaust system suspension to give the Grom a new look "mini streetfighter" crisper that retains the charm of the original, but with additional attitude!

To respond specifically to this generation of young pilots, in 2013 Honda produced the Grom (also known as MSX in the foreign = Mini Street X-treme 125). A product truly global (and known as the "Grom" in Japan and the US), the Grom has been a success all over the world, in particular in Thailand, where they have sold more than a quarter of a million units. Is all that is expected of a Honda, in terms of performance, build quality and usability, but also wears a style and exudes an attitude of its own.

Honda Grom Weight: General description of the model

Manufactured in Thailand, the Grom is small enough to be manageable of the supreme form, but also has a sense of right thanks to some pieces from standard size of the motorcycle. It is part mini-bike, motorcycle, the part with the operation involved paired to the confident direction already styling that combines a sense of fun with an edge, tough, urban. For 2017, a complete redesign gives the Grom an attitude even more acute with more of a feeling of 'mini streetfighter' of its new design lines, compact exhaust to underslung and new LED headlamp stacking.

The engine for gas injection 125 cc, tested, and efficient, and offers a couple of torque and smooth power transmission, and also has a gear box of four speeds and a clutch-style motorcycle. Complementing the powerplant is a compact chassis that features a durable steel frame, front fork upside down, monoshock rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes front and rear and alloy wheels of 12 inch sporting wide, low profile tires.

Four patents were applied through the original development of the Grom, centered around the cover of the tank structure divided and the framework, the proof of how seriously this bike is taken by Honda. Small it may be, but in terms of worldwide sales, brand awareness and the satisfaction of the owner, his impact has been great.

Honda Grom Horsepower

2015 honda grom horsepower - God only knows what different path would have taken my life if I had had one of these in 1973. Well, it would have been the same path at first: the trails that wind through the woods at the end of our street where All the bigger kids and cold rode his Elsinores and Combat Wombats. We have managed to wrangle a second-hand Bronco 50 and knew how to mix oil with the gas, but no one mentioned the oil of the gearbox; When the tranny was seized two weeks after the glorious acquisition, he returned to cycling the power of the brothers Burns and stop the development of the collective. Meanwhile, the kids in the Mini Trail 50s only continued forward, they were filled with riding at an early age, and continued to lead lives of respectable.

The Grom brings it all back home, but that injected 125cc fuel only gives it power monstrous (in comparison with a Z50). Pronatear on top of the tank on the pavement level near the level of the sea with the clothing flappy minimal, I saw 61 mph on the dashboard digital. If I would have stopped at the pants of things in socks and tucked in my hood, 62 would have been available. Finally, here is a bike that I can keep caught through the curves on Irvine Avenue, and handles the bumps very well at the top, even in those small wheels of 12 inches. With twice the travel of the rear wheel of a Sportster-4.1-inch-the Grom maintain control and directional stability heeled over through the matter bumpy. Not only is it cute, but scoots.
Honda Grom Horsepower

That's right, friends, 8,96 HP on the Cycle World dyno is close enough to call it 9, and that's a lot to get the holeshot in Camry off guard. If you can get there without getting on a freeway, the Grom will take you-55 mph at 7000 rpm in the cog on the top (fourth) is not a bad place to be. Except for the seat, anyway; The dense foam Honda chose definitely came from the department of dirtbike, because unless it is heavy enough to really compress the spring, rear (without names), in front of the seat does not want to give her a snuggie and slip against the tank. Apart from that, you can't really complain about what your $ 2,999 purchase (it is unlikely that you will find a Grom for that, so quickly are the buyers breaking them, according to a local dealer of Honda). In addition to the LCD instrument panel of the CBR500R / CB-F / CB-X (complete with tachometer bar graph, gas meter, clock, etc), the Grom also shares handrail, switchgear, master cylinders, levers , And all sorts of components with the twins built in Thailand, and everything is so functional in the Grom. There are not many economizers obvious, but the use of a transmission chain non-O-ring is one, complete with the link master. And the beam of light in the lighthouse of our Grom is nice and bright, but the beam of light is already burned-unexpected behavior of a motorcycle japanese. It could have been the duty skatepark!

Aside from that nonsense, the Grom might very well be the drug gateway that Honda should never have taken off the shelves decades ago, the dream of all children become a reality. Even better for Honda, all those children are now middle-aged and do not have to ask their parents to buy them a Grom or two. A dealer tells us that the majority of sales are to boomers looking to relive the 70's. But maybe this bike will get your kids to look up from the iPad and decide to go for a spin. If so, you will be hooked.

Like the Honda Mini Trail original, there is no better coach. The Grom is as intimidating as a puppy, the seat is lower than the specifications indicate, and the whole experience short decades from your age (if you have any decade free). A face shield dark it is a good idea if you're an old guy, so that people chalk up to the way in which you are mounting the exuberance of youth in place of the immaturity advanced. Hey, if you don't like it, stay of the sidewalk, grandma! And the bike lane. And the skatepark, and the front yard. We are happy that Honda have their second childhood. Perfect time for some of us.

Honda Grom Scramble

Honda grom 50 scramble price - Honda Grom Scramblers are the micro motorcycles retro of your dreams - These Scrambler-style 50cc Honda Grom scooters will not be very fast on the road. Will not be competitors of motocross. But holy shit look like fun. And since that is the whole point of motorcycling, this might secretly be the bike to end.
Honda Grom Scramble

The Grom is a motorcycle of micro-size that is cheap to run, easy to operate, and basically adored by anyone who has mounted any time. A "scrambler" is a bike-style standard adjusted for a little more preload off road. Put those things together and boom; You get these toys stunning adorable two-wheels.

The simply named "Grom Scrambler Concept One" and "Grom Scrambler Concept Two" are just that; a Concept vehicle that Honda is bringing to the Car show in Toyko.
Honda Grom Scramble

But with the encoder and the retro look that starts to snowball in popularity, I bet that there is a chance of decent these things come to the exhibition rooms. Even if only as a trim level for the current Grom.

In reality, the bike current has a engine of 125cc. That would be ... even better!

Honda has not waived any detail with respect to these small machines, but stay tuned as the show is about. Frankly I don't care what the specs end up being; It's a small Honda engine with ten or twelve parts, tied with a belt. If the price is right, I want one. I really want one.

Honda Grom Scramble: Grom 50 Scrambler for the Production?

A new patent suggests that Honda is serious about putting the Grom 50 Scrambler in production in the near future. At the Tokyo motor show last year, Honda showed a couple of concepts reduced, 50cc Grom Scrambler - the imaginatively named 'Concept-One' and 'Concept-Two' machines. Both shared elements of the current 125cc Grom teem with an engine smaller than 50 cc, and retro-style scrambler.

Now, one of the bikes, 'Concept One' has had his style patented in both Japan and China, hinting that the firm might be serious to put it in production. Of the two concepts, it was the more traditional-looking for the scrambler and that seemed to be the closest to viable for production.

Although the new images of the patent do not reveal details that were not in the concept of motorcycle, the decision of Honda to protect commercially the design, particularly in China, where the copy is abundant, can be interpreted as a suggestion that the bike has a future production .

Honda Grom 50 Scramble: Grom Scrambler Concept Bikes

The Grom from Honda, a motorcycle of 125 cc 7/8 scale that is sold for $ 3349, is maybe our favorite bike in the stable of the company at this time. It is cheap, slow and, most importantly, it is the perfect bike for beginners. That looks absolutely stunning with her nude, mini-sportbike-face is an advantage. But what if you're in something a little more. . . what about scrambled eggs? Luckily, because Honda is going to bring two Groms specially fitted to the show car of 2015 in Tokyo.

Drambrado Grom50 Scrambler Concept-One and Grom50 Scrambler Concept-Two, both of them are tricked up to look like the bikes called "scrambler" (Ducati actually sells a bike with the same name that follows the same formula), which means that they have an appearance of Off-road ability. Words can't describe how bad we want that Honda sells these.

Although similar in concept, the Scrambler Concept-One is slightly different from Scrambler Concept-Two. The first one is painted silver, but retains the suspension forks golden standard of Grom and also bears the numbering "3" neat, a handful of chrome parts and the tires are knobby above. The Scrambler Concept-Two, on the other hand, gets a color scheme of tan-and-green inspired in the style of Anglo and a cluster centralized traditional more traditional in place of the piece de-centered One. In fact, the sets of indicators -in reality only a large tachometer with digital other information fill in your centre - they are special; The Grom regular has a digital unit, also, but it is not the color, and it also looks so cool. Not only are the tachs between our favorite features of the motorbike concept, but that are also different from Scrambler to Scrambler, with a kind of look futuristic decorating the One and a more traditional style, low-key for the two.

Until now, the standard Grom has been a success out of control here in the united States. However, as with any product with wheels, to keep things fresh is crucial, so we hope that Honda is at least considering to use these concepts as points of departure for the first special edition of the Groms. The website of motorcycles of Honda in the united States to date, lists only the models Grom 2015, which received new color schemes in relation to the year 2014, these would be additions to the lineup 2016! Just Do It, Honda!

The fuel-injected engine has been bumped up to 204cc for Grom hop-up specialists FinBro Garage. The new inmates include a large kit of the valve, and a piston and a connecting rod forgings.

The fuel economy is a success, because there is now a 34mm updated throttle body and an injector for high flow. There is also a new consumption and exhaust Brocks Performance, and an ECU custom to keep the hardware of luxury running sweet.

A kit of descent dropped the bike a couple of inches, and there is a swing arm stretched worthy of a dragbike. The best known names are Öhlins (shock and steering damper), and Brembo and Galfer for the brake. The tires are Pirelli Diablos, but the accessory scooter, 12-inch. If that is not quite wild for you, then the second machine must appeal. In this case, the gas tank is still stock, but that is all.

Honda Grom Mods: Best 10 Honda Grom Modifications

Honda Grom mods - Here in HW we like to ride bikes slow faster. Both the editor-in-chief Duke as the contributor Gabe Ets-Hokin have written columns about him (lee Duke here, and Gabe is here), but it is a feeling that we all share. To prove it, I've signed up to all the staff, without Tom (has an introduction of the press to attend Ppfff), to come to the race with me in a 24-hour race on mini bikes, organized by the United Mini Racing Association. Our car that hopefully will take us to glory (shame, most likely)? Nothing more than the very popular Honda Grom.

Although never intended to be a racing machine, the aftermarket Grom has gone wild with ways to transform funster little Honda into a weapon capable of terrorizing a race track. What follows are 10 improvements that we're launching in our Grom that will not only give us an opportunity to run in the front, but also help the Grom to survive 24 hours of abuse. In total, the following list represents $ 4,564.22 in spare parts (and this is not all that we have), more than $ 1400 more than the bike itself! Stay tuned, as we will document the installation of many of these parties in a subsequent history.
Honda Grom Mods: Best 10 Honda Grom Modifications

1. Wheels are carbon fiber BST
Definitely the only article to our Grom that we are more excited about the evidence are these wheels carbon fiber BST, which provides us with Brock's Performance, as you can see on the label. At $ 1500.83 (no, that is not a typo), wheels BST's are almost half the cost of the bike itself. However, there is no doubt the dramatic decrease in weight - about 2 and 3 pounds. Lighter, respectively, of the action 6-pound. Front and 7-pounds. later. That is a significant drop in weight to be sure, made more so by the fact that the drop in rotating mass greatly benefit every aspect of performance of the bike. The wheels are available in two sizes; The OEM size (2.75 inches x 12 inches front, 3.5-inch x 12-inch rear) or a wide option, which includes a 140 / 70-12 rear tyre (instead of the standard 130 / 70-12) mounted on a 4.0 inch x 12 inch wheel. A front tyre 120 / 70-12 is standard on both.

Speaking of tires, the sharp eyes will notice the rubber of Michelin Power Pure SC mounted on our wheels. Provide a grip edge sticky, in addition to exceptional durability, thanks to its design of double composite - Michelin says that they are the only tire dual-compound scooter on the market. If you order tires with wheels of Brock, who is sent mounted and balanced, plus they can be inflated with nitrogen stable as a function of temperature instead of regular air. If you were to buy the tires separate from the wheels, it would cost you $ 73.95 front and $ 77.95 for rear-130 / 70-12. Add two dollars more for the 140-rear.

2. Commander power V
Of course, if you are going to make a motorcycle engine to breathe easier, it is best to give an air / fuel mixture revised to extract the maximum amount of energy. Here is where comes the Commander of Power V. The PCV of $ 399.95 is less than half the size of the Power Commander III, with more functionality. Although the capacities of the PCV are much higher than the capabilities of the Grom, it is good to know that the PCV is able to assign every single cylinder in every gear on a motorcycle with multiple cylinders. It also allows the user to adjust timing +/- 20 degrees, you no longer need an adapter of 9 volts, has a function of switching map of two positions built-in, and even comes with maps of the streets or races pre-installed if you purchase And an exhaust system from Brock.

Honda Grom Exhaust Mod: Alien Head Full Exhaust

What good is a kit of admission, without escape? Fortunately, Brock we hooked up with one of their exhausts Alien Head, also. Available in the versions polished ($ 399.95, pictured above) or black ($ 499.95) The muffler megaphone of 12 inches with an output of 2 inches to increase the exhaust flow and a deeper sound. It is also designed to work with the pins standing stock and provide the maximum ground clearance for those who prefer to stretch and lower your Groms. Since we are more concerned about the performance in this application, we're going to talk about numbers. In accordance with the scales of performance from Brock, the exhaust system Grom stock weighs 11.0 pounds. Does the system Alien Head? A mere 4.15 lbs. That's a 63% saving of weight. In terms of the power system, the Alien Head did 10,07 horsepower (against 8.57 per horsepower) and 8,17 foot-pounds. (In front of 7,85 foot-pounds) on the bike test of Brock. This represents a 17.5% more power and a 4.1% more torque. We'll gladly take those gains.

Honda Grom Intake Mod: Intake

When it comes to adding power and going fast, we trust in Brock Davidson Brock and Performance. In fact, Brock has an entire page on their website dedicated to Grom go-fast goodies, and one such bit is this air intake kit ram that replaces the stock unit is restrictive. Kit $ 169.95 includes an air filter cone waterproof filter Sprint air intake tube ram Chimera and all the necessary hardware for proper installation. It is a kit bolted straightforward, and the beauty of the filter is Sprint that requires only compressed air for cleaning, without washing and re-greasing necessary. According to the Dyno performance of Brock, this kit offset a jump in horsepower of 10.31 horsepower at 11.47 horsepower, and an increase in torque of 8-10 lb-ft. To 8,65 lb.-ft. In the bike test. Those numbers may sound small to those used for numbers of three digits of the bikes great, but that is a huge increase of 11.3% in horsepower and an impressive increase of 6.8% in the torque.

5. Suspension
In the second place to the lack of power of the Grom is its unfortunately low buffer suspension. Designed to be affordable and comfortable on the street, they are too soft for the follow-up of the load. We are fixing that with the aid of an adjustable shock dual Irb and the upgrade kit, fork fully adjustable K-Tech. The shock absorber Irb of $ 699 is fully adjustable for compression damping (high and low speed), rebound damping and preload spring, and is currently the only upgrade shock rear for the Grom is available with height adjustment walking. As an additional advantage, each shock JRi is manufactured according to the specific needs of their rider.

In the front, the upgrade kit of the fork K-Tech $ 549.95 also includes adjustment of compression, rebound and preload, making it the only kit fork Grom in the market with capabilities completely adjustable. The kit also comes with springs of 6.5 Nm (stock is 5.0 Nm) to help to firm up the ride, but to 6.0 Nm, and 7.0 Nm springs are optional. The axes of the fork are chromed hard to resistance and wear resistance, while the internal components of the fork of aluminium are anodised to resist contamination. To finish off, the top caps are of aluminum CNC machining.

6. Oil cooler Morin
Now that we have an oil pump of high flux, let's get the most out of it by the addition of an oil cooler Morin to help prolong the life of the engine even more. The game bolts Morin of 168 dollars also comes with courtesy of our friends at Steady Garage, and comes with everything needed to install the kit, including oil cooler, bracket, lines and accessories, AN and all the bolts required, including a head extended stud that will allow the oil to flow from the passage of oil from the cylinder to the refrigerator. The refrigerator is installed directly in front of the cylinder head and the protective grill in front of the cooling fins helps to protect against the debris that the front tire could kick. How much impact has the cooler? Some reports in the message boards of the Internet have shown as much as a variation in 30-degree on temps of the oil with and without a refrigerator.

7. Oil pump Takegawa Hi-Flo
Leave it to the forum of Honda Grom for bringing to my attention something I had not considered. Because the motor's 125cc Grom is air cooled, is based on the oil to help cool things down. The oil pump is adequate for the task that Honda designed the bike for - a runner errand around the city - but when it comes to racing, high rpm sustained, the oil pump of stock is tax to its limit. Enter Takegawa and your oil pump high-flow-specific Grom. As its name indicates, the pump of high flow are claims that it increases the flow of oil by 35% over the stock unit. For $ 57, we consider that cheap insurance, especially for a 24-hour race.

8. Levers adjustable Kuni
When you have five riders that will compete with the same bike, make the bike as adjustable as possible to suit the various styles that mount is important. Since the Grom is equipped with brake and clutch levers are not adjustable, change them by these levers $ 35 Kuni, courtesy of Steady Garage. There are levers, short, or double in case of a fall, but provide the capability of adjusting six ways and the tips are flush to minimize the damage if the lever touches the ground.

9. Coatings of Woodcraft
When the angles of lean are what you are trying to improve, the pin standard to put an end to this task fairly quickly. Of course, the position of the stock is comfortable for a trip around the city, but on the track racist severely limit the distance to the ground. Enter Eric Wood and these replaysets Woodcraft, specifically for the Grom and distributed by Todd Robinson of Blue Monkey Motorsports. Available in standard switch, and GP kit $ 429.99 includes a set of rearsets constructed of 6061 aluminum, the pin separate, shifters, and brake, and associated hardware necessary to install everything. The pins themselves are adjustable to two different positions, which provide a separation much more to the soil than the pin stock. And because the rearsets are made in America, replacement parts are easy to get.

10. Brake pads sintered SBS / Spiegler brake Lines steel braided
We started this parts list fast for the Honda Grom with two crucial elements for braking: brake pads and brake lines steel braided. Since our beloved bike game was never designed for high-performance applications, suffers from a power braking it feels as if two pieces of wood are tightened properly on the disc (although it is strangely consistent lap after lap) and a lever spongy. Fortunately, both articles are easily resolved through the market of accessories. SBS sent us their pads sintered 797RSI for the Grom, which should provide a greater braking power to be able to last the full 24 hours and still provide a greater feeling on the pads of organic stock. Can be found for around $ 30 online.

Of course, a good set of pads is almost a waste without braided lines of steel, and the people of Steady Garage we hooked up with the kit brake line Spiegler specifically for the Grom. For $ 125, the kit includes both front lines as the rear along with all bolts, banjo and washers of crushing required for the job. The result should be much better and the feeling consisting of the lever, lap after lap.

And this is theStory of a Modified Honda Grom mine
Last night I started to desgarrarme in the Grom in search of more power. (I had owned it for about 20 hours and 125 miles in that time, so it was time to begin to modify)

Air box mod:
I removed my fairing and left the cover of the airbox and destripé that little tube stupid inside the airbox and the mesh on the back side of the air filter. Also I turned my air intake tube 180 degrees so that it faces forward now instead of backward, and then drilled six holes of 3/4 "on the front face of the fairing (the plastic panel black unpainted on the inside) to allow a better flow of air from the Front of the bike in the snorkel. The holes are completely hidden when everything is back together and even if you sought, are actions.

With 125cc and something like 9.5 hp, I honestly don't expect anything from this mod except the noise, however I was surprised. The increase in the flow of air became a power gain slight, but noticeable in the mid-range and the response speed markedly improved over the entire band of the rev. Woke up to the small. -And it sounds significantly ... (I Still have the exhaust stock, so I imagine that the difference would be more pronounced if you have a tube of sport)

Total time invested: about 25 minutes
Total cost: $ 0

I also did the installation of the removal of the seat strap / washer to make the seat more comfortable and open more easy. This is a must-do. I also removed my manual from the owner of the small compartment of the strap of the bungee at the bottom of my seat to make a perfect spot to hold a pack of smokes and a charger for the cell phone.

Total time: about 15 minutes (I spent 5 looking for my shop washing machines acceptable)
Total cost: about 15 cents worth of washers

I highly recommend both mods.

Side note: I Changed the oil with castrol conventional 10w30 for the theft-in also. The switch from bad to Motul synthetic at 300 miles

That is because we believe that a disposable may be okay for a cup of coffee, but not for a motorcycle.

Like many of us, motorcycles have gotten a little bigger in the last few years. Bikes for beginners have been increased from the simple machines of 250cc to 500cc and 600cc. Electronic aids such as ABS, traction control and digital displays added layers of complexity to a design that is inherently simple.

A motorcycle is, at its core, is a vehicle made for the convenience and the fun. Sometimes, all those extras stand in the way of the joy a simple bike ride. Now the pendulum of progress is finally turning towards the other side. Since 2010 there has been a growth of 127 per cent in the sector of the "small streets" 1, according to a recent presentation of Kawasaki, which he shared an analysis of the data of the Council of the Industry of Motorcycles.

"We've seen a product much more in the division than 400 and less size. And that means that brands see a market opening to be filled with new bikes fresh, " said Ty van Hooydonk, vice president of communications for the Motorcycle Industry Council. Motorcycles like the 390 Duke of KTM, the Ninja 300 from Kawasaki, the R3 from Yamaha and the CBR300R from Honda are attracting buyers and riders for the first time in ever increasing numbers for a very simple reason: they are All designed to be comfortable and easy to operate and to offer new riders healthy Amount of horsepower.

Even premium brands like BMW and Ducati, traditionally focused on sport bikes and adventure largest, have taken note. The new G 310 R of BMW, a bike naked 313cc, will go on sale globally early next year, and Ducati has recently launched a version of 400cc of their popular Scrambler-style retro.

But the most fun of all can come in one of the smaller packages: a 125cc Honda Grom.

Honda Grom 125 Top Speed: Updated Look

It is easy to dismiss a Grom Honda as a scooter pretending to be a motorcycle appropriate. Introduced for the first time in 2014, the bike size fun has just received an update cosmetics to 2016. Of course, it is powered by the same engine of a single cylinder air cooled that is in the bike Wave of the company. But unlike a scooter, the power goes to the rear wheel via a proper transmission of four speeds. The manual transmission means that you will need a full license for a motorcycle to drive this version, unlike her brother scooter.

Move your leg over the seat of 29.7 inches, which is for beginners, and you will notice several touches of high-end, a rarity for a motorcycle that starts at $ 3,199. The brakes are discs hydraulic in comparison with the drums cheaper. The front suspension uses upside-down forks of the type that is normally found in motorcycles premium and has an impressive 3.9 in. of travel. A monoshock at the rear provides a similarly stuffed 4.1 inches of travel. Even the instrument panel is digital. Of course, the suspension is Ohlins and the brakes are not Brembos, but they look like they could be. The Grom can be little and cheap, but it certainly doesn't feel cheap.

Honda Grom Top Speed Stock: How to drive

The engine of 125cc, it provides the enough power to jump off the line with authority-it'll even wheelie (yes, I tried it) -and gets 134 mpg is impressive. There is space and pins folding to a passenger, but the added weight of a second ass on the back of the seat puts a damper remarkable in the power unit (well at low speeds around town, but a struggle on the slopes). The additional weight on the rear affects the balance of the Grom much more than it does on a bike heavier.

Speaking of that seat, now is a good time to note that nothing is perfect: it Is incredibly narrow and will make even the most hardened of back pain after an hour or so. Mirrors are another weak point in the Grom. Sit as close to your body that are completely useless, unless you happen to enjoy constantly admiring his own elbows.

The bike shines at low speeds and in tight spaces. The bars are high and wide make the navigation of the narrow spaces of the city and the paths winding is a joy. During four days of testing in northern New Jersey, did everything I asked for and more. Unlike most scooters, the Grom is eager to lean and drag a peg if the situation requires it. The riders will be going out of your way to find situations that call for it.

Although the road-legal in some states, the Grom is definitely not road-wise. The maximum speed is 56 mph. I have managed to 62 mph only once-at full throttle, on a downhill, with a tail wind, in a full aero tuck. I wouldn't try to reach that speed again.

The clutch mentioned above is light, but the lever on our bike of the press traveled pretty far before it started to flatten each one of the four gears of the Grom. The discs hydraulic are sensitive and more than adequate to stop the 225 lbs of bike, fluids, and fuel (and 164 pounds). It would be nice if the bike comes with roller-adjustable and ABS, but that is asking a lot at such a low price.

The Grom may not be a motorcycle real, but it is without doubt a drug gateway for motorcycles real. In the end, none of these side issues really matter for a simple reason: it is an absolute blast to ride. Free of the prospect intimidating to ride a sportbike overpowered or gargantuan, cruise costly, the headquarters of the Grom is just a happy place to spend an hour.

You don't have to worry about the perfect timing of their turns, nailing an apex, or the braking technique right. Just grab all the throttle you can, wait until you get to the redline, change, and repeat. It is also easy to park and cheap to insure. What more do you want of a motorcycle without frills?

Honda Grom Top Speed mph: Bottom line

The Grom may not be a motorcycle real, but it is without doubt a drug gateway for motorcycles real. Master the basics in one, and soon you will begin to crave the speed of a bike larger. I have ridden bikes, naked, cruisers of medium size, and nostalgia-inducing scramblers modern. They are big, are fast, and unlike the Grom, it does not lead people to ask, "what Is a toy?" But the Grom always put a big smile on my face. In addition, it is much easier to dart around a city.

It's so good, in fact, that has generated some competition in the U.S. Kawasaki has just unveiled the Z125 Pro. As the Grom is powered by a engine of 125cc, it has a board digital forks inverted, disc brakes, room for a passenger and an environment that is hoonigan. Unlike the Honda, it starts at only $ 2,999, or $ 200 less. When asked about the new competition, a spokesman for Honda reminded me that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Both the Grom as the Z125 Pro seem to be motorcycles of larger displacement for a reason. Are designed to remove the traditional barriers to entry to a life on two wheels and promote brand loyalty. When the pilots feel comfortable with their Groms, Honda is expected to move into a family CB 500F. The Kawasaki Z 125 Pro seems strangely similar to the Z800 for the same reason.

On the other hand, if the small bikes are so good, why do you want to update at all?
